Gainesville Critical Mass

Gainesville Critical Mass takes place at 5:30 pm on the last Friday of every month at the Plaza of the Americas on the University of Florida campus.  The bike ride starts at 5:30 pm, come rain or come shine.

The purpose of the Critical Mass is to raise public awareness of the alternatives to motorized transportation and to reclaim public space from the automobile, one lane at a time.  Massers ride around Gainesville for about an hour and a half in a large group, mostly on four-lane roads.  Please make sure to have a working taillight and headlight on you bike.
